I looked at the moderator log and this is what I notice:refalm has a billion entries editing stuff - what is this refalm? Is it scripts updating posts or something?
Ironically my thread about improving the forum by reducing censors was censored by some COMPLETE FUCKING FAGGOT, who locked the thread. While using these moderator powers, he admits that he doesn't really even use the forum.
What happened to the other thread "Certainly bye" I can't find it. It seemed to disappear after moving this to the lounge, sorry if it's my fault.
my work firewall is currently stopping me reading page one of this thread, but from the gist of page two i think it's fair to say this:it's a sad state of affairs when doubts raised about censorship are censored. Whoever did it should be ashamed of themselves and whoever tries to defend them should be ashamed too.

I was doubting that there's a general policy of censorship here but when I now I think about it, I'm not too sure. If someone had made the same remark about the MS Office developers, would it have been dealt with in the same manner? I doubt it. Whilst I accept this is an anti-MS forum, it's pointless if criticism of non-MS products and particularly FOSS is not allowed. Moderators should be as unbiased as possible when carrying out their duties.
look, this is all bullshit, this thread's full of opinions and people deliberately (or worse unintentionally!) misunderstanding each other, why don't you all just grow up and get over yourselves? As if anybody even cares except the six or so people who regularly post on this board. Yes, i'm against offensive language (ie: derogatory, sexist, bigoted etc) but for fuck's sake, two pages of discussion about calling developers faggots? If it was reported, it's because the person reporting it was offended, so yeah, there's a case in that ONE instance, imho, but in this case it was a moderator reporting it because he thought it might have offended somebody else (somebody who didn't report it). As i said, grow up. Take action when somebody really is offended and not before, i say. There are a LOT worse things you could be putting your energy into than complaining about swear words. Hopefully none of that was offensive to any of you...
I am not disgusted for the developers sake, but simply because Kintaro felt the need to use that language, in a simple one-line post about patches.
What do you not like about his language?Do you find the word faggot particularly offensive?
