Not to get off topic, I'd just like to clarify something, The idea of Communism is good, it looks good on paper, but because of human nature it will never work, there will always be someone taking advantage of someone else. How the fuck is X Box better than gamecube??? It's running a 32 bit processor for gods sake. Sure it has a faster clock rate, but that doesn't matter, it doesn't matter how many megahertz something has. An imaginary 20 gigahertz 8086 would be slower than a 1700 AMD processor. Instructions per second is what matters. Gamecube can compete just as well, if not better than the X Box. At least they are MAKING money with each on they sell, unlike microsoft.

You seem to forget that the PS2 had a similar problem. However, Sony fixed anyone who wanted the repair for free, while Xbox users had to get the repair done for half the cost of buying the damn thing.

I'm the first to admit I do not know much about computers. This however does not mean I do'nt have any common sense. Heres how I see the X-Box. We know how it all started with Microsoft dominating the computer industry but that was'nt enough. Now they must also try to dominate the video game industry as well. Microsoft has expressed their need to be in control of anything with so much as a computer chip in it. Today thats just about everything. If things continue the way they are we will one day be forced to buy Microsoft coffee pots, can openers, TV's, DVD players, microwaves, stoves and on and on. We will no longer have the choice to buy a brand of whatever that we like as Microsoft will be the only one to choose from. Hows this too? One day computers fully control all cars but Microsoft fully controls all computers. You now have a car that runs on a MS operating system. You're headed down the freeway at 60 mph when the little computer screen informs you that the operating system has preformed an illegal operation and will shut down. Well there goes the engine and with it the power brakes and power stearing. It's not a pleasent thought.

Only MS could get away with such a stunt. Even if Sony is sort of like the electronics equivalent of MS, they will always deliver high quality shit. Everyone knows that Sony is high quality, and that's not gonna change. They coulden't survive if Sony TV's and stereos suddenly became pieces of shit. MS on the other hand, can survive perfectly well selling shit software.

the biggest problem with xbox is extremely technical

it is made by microsoft

and i have dropped my playstation down 2 flights of stairs and it is all full of dust and grime and it has never had proper ventilation and it STILL WORKS FLAWLESSLY

kinda like aiwa stereos--you can kick the living shit out of it and it still works

i doubt Red Ranger Software would "work" if i kicked the shit out of him

i was at Best Buy the other day, just f-ing around, looking at games, and low and behold, i look up at there xbox station, and it was crashed, bsod(well, actually green and black screen) telling us to take it to get serviced. My freind and i got a good laugh out of this, and the guy working that area said it has been doing that all week, so he just hit restart. Quality if you ask me. The other systems on display were put through the same rigorous playing and beatings day after day, and they were running smooth. funny.

then how come i can network mine for 20+hours, alot of software that is being demoed is beta, and the xbox does tend to run a bit hot, cuase its halfway between a smeleron and a pIII, buts its still x86 miroserf stuff, but it has the best first gen games. the ps2 has some pretty cool 2nd gen games, so when i start working, ill buy a ps2, and a gamecube, and have lots of fun with ALL THREE. besides, my xbox is creeping me out day by day, but i got it for christmas last year, so i can't take it apart, and it is pretty fun. and i think that there is a way to pirate music from xbox to xbox. using the memory managment, and a memory card, im not shore if it works but hey. owell, xbox did get a few things right, other then the x86 hardware it useses and the win2k kernel that it does also, owell, have phun
