So I went to a small party(a gathering actually), last night and got drunk. Heh heh cool. Of course im too powerful to actually throw up. This chick kept thinking I was gonna puke, but nope, too strong for that.

Anyways, there was cool shit going on. Plenty of 4 on 4 Halo gaming on a big screen TV, with an excellent mp3 hip-hop wigga soundtrack from the computer, hooked up to the big TV speakers.

Ok ok but we're here to talk about the X-box and my experiences with it. Well, I liked some of Halo's weapons. The graphics were excellent and framerates were good and consistent. I felt the controllers were rather uncomfortable though. Seemed to put a lot of strain on the fingers, and I had trouble with the whole mini-joystick aiming system, too used to the mouse+keyboard.

Not a single crash, but I suppose X-box woulden't crash nearly as often as wind0ze.

Actually the XBOX does run a stripped down version of Windows if I'm not mistaken; the reason it doesn't crash at all (or once in a blue moon) is because the hardware is all standardized like a mac and therefore it's easy to work out all the stability problems.

I call it the XDK - It's microsoft's dev kit for xbox. of course a still-in-development game would crash. nevertheless, i have witnessed my buddy's shitBox crash many a time - but it just hangs :mad: and right as i was about to beat a level in splinter cell!

And it's controller sucks my wee-wee! Ok I admit, I don't have big hands, but I don't have small hands either. Of course in a few years I hope to get big hands like my dad... size rox.

i saw first hand how much the xbox sucks. i was at best buy, and they have a playstation2, a game cube, and an xbox on display, they are all there for you to play. the xbox had green screened. i made a comment to my friend, and an employee overheard and said that it has been crashing all week, turns out all 3 systems have been running for roughly the same amount of time, and recieved the same amount of game play. the other two had not crashed. xbox is no good.

here is the problem with xbox - quality control. I have dreamcast, ps2, gamecube and xbox. And my xbox has never crashed. My buddy's xbox crashes ALL THE TIME. This is a problem with the way they are contstructed: they take a bunch of PC parts and hand them to some 12-year-old child laborer. If the kid knows how to put that shit together right, then u get a good xbox like mine. If the kid doesnt know how to do it, then you get a POS xbox that has loose connections, screws, etc. of course, it also has to do with the kernel, but i think it is actually mainly hardware.

Also keep in mind that M$ just doesnt care enough to thoroughly test xboxes before they ship.

Keep in mind that PS2s stop reading cds after a while and must be recalibrated. So Xbox isnt the only piece of shit console out there. not that that makes it right for it to crash.

Some say the X-Box is very stable for a Microsoft Product... They say they are doing a good job... but heres whats really going to happen.

Sure the X-Box didnt crash much, but Windows 3.x didnt do that much either, just wait till they get everyone in the cycle, and then they will put timer bugs in... 2 years and the X-Box will crash lots, to get you to get an "upgrade".

They can dominate the Operating System for the cheapest machines that all will buy... then they can dominate the Web Browser... then attempt the Web Server and stuff... Well what next, hmmmmm lets try and blow sony and Nintendo out of the water... what next... the tv market... hifi... porno?... World Politics (All hail fruher gates)...

Who knows what next... but if we dont act fast like we should have on the Personal Computer years ago.... The console will be shit out of luck to.

The only reason MS used a more stable kernel for XP was because they ph3ar the p3nguin.

my friend owns an xbox (I own a GCN) and he is always trying to show me what it can do......half the time when he puts a game in it wont work and he has to take out and try again...its pathetic....I have also seen one of those green screens of death.....I cried with laughter.

somebody said the reason the xbox was no good was 'quality control'. that's only half right. in my opinion, it's too much control and not enough quality...
