mercmannick:
Hi

i have had a Bet with a friend of mine , who by the way is what i call pretty efficent on a Computer.

so here goes.........

i beleive that hotmail emails tht you read , or even reply to are not kept on your PC. But infact kept on "Hotmail Servers"

(yes i know they leave a link to the login page)

but he is saying i could image your hard drive load it onto a non internet pc, and i could prnt out all your hotmail emails etc etc . without accessing the internet or hacking my user pass for Hotmail.

i have

piratePenguin:
The webpages will be kept temporarily on the harddrive (in the cache) - for at least 300 seconds ("Cache-Control: private,max-age=300" - thank you web-developer toolbar for FF). I'm not sure if most web-browsers would delete them after 300s, but if you've cleared the cache yourself then they'll be gone.
GMail uses "Cache-Control: no-cache", so it won't be cached atall.

Why don't you just give your friend an image of your harddrive and see if he can print out your emails (he might get a few, but it's not possible that he'd always get them all)?

This thread should be in the lounge...
