Is there any way of accessing true DOS mode in windows XP

Yes, but it's not turned on by default. Here are the initial steps to get this working:
1) Create an XP emergency boot disk
2) copy FORMAT.COM to this disk
3) Reboot from this floppy
4) type "FORMAT /U C:" and answer "Y"
When you get finished with these steps let me know and I will give you the final steps.....

Huh? You call that a trick? If they fall for something this stupid then they need to pack that nice shiny new computer with eXPee back in the box and ship it back to the manufacture with an attached note:
Dear Dell/Gateway/Compaq/(Insert any other MS Nazi company):
I am returning this computer because I am too frickin' stupid to use it. Please put mark in your Passport database next to my name so that not only you, but all the other MS computer vendors will never sell me another computer again.
P.S. You wouldn't happen to carry etch-a-sketch would you? If so, I might be able to handle that..
