sounds about right jtpenrod

During start-up while system specs are being displayed, press F8 a couple of times until the next screen comes along which should be a list of options. Around 6 if I remember correctly.. Option number 3 is 'DOS prompt' or 'DOS'.. Choose it.. If that's not what you're looking for then oh well.. Tough heh

You could just format your hard drive, find MS DOS 6.22 on some vaporware site, then install it before you install XP.  During installation XP will see the older version of DOS and create an entry for it in the bootloader, so you can choose whether you want DOS or Windows at every boot.  You could also install an older version of Windows like 95 or 98, and XP will dual boot them just the same.

Or you could trash Windows, install Linux, and use dosemu to run all your old apps.

shinji:
blah... dos.

anyways, if you must get into true dos mode under windows xp, then use a old boot floppy from win9x/me.  that will get you there.  A previous suggestion about using installing DOS 6.22 then Windows XP may be checked into.  Considering I have DOS 6.22...
