well i have had little experience with many versions. once my windows 3.11 arrives i will be able to confirm my suspicions about which windows is best.

no. it is not. for reasons that have been stated here a thousand times. if you want windows, you fucking pay for it. 'smart' people do not use windows at all. it'a this sort of dumb comment that sends 'don't mention linux' threads right down the toilet.

Smart people pay for Windows?! Ok maybe smarter people don't use Windows, but dumber people pay for it. If you don't pay, your in-between dumb and smart.

The point is whether you use pirated or non-pirated Windows you are adding to Microsoft market share. Pirated copies of Windows are part of what has contributed to Microsoft becoming a monopoly. We encourage using Linux and decreasing the Microsoft market share, and help you not be a criminal. If you need me to explain how using pirated versions of Windows contributes to Microsoft market share I can but it has been explained several times before. A search of these forums will find the best examples.
So it's not about being smart or dumb (although I would consider participating in unnecessary illegal activity dumb) it's about reducing the Microsoft strangle-hold.
