hey btw my LG 32x CDRW didn't need any drivers... since when do they need drivers? i didn't have to reboot either.... and when Windows.Net comes out, one of its main features is "not needing to reboot" after driver installations and application installations

you moron. everything needs drivers. You mean it was plug and play or some such crap, meaning the drivers get bundled with the OS.

what is this crap? the reasons windows needs to reboot is due to its central registry (this is also one of the main reasons for firstly its instability since many apps can be accessing the same registry at once, and secondly its insecurity, since, again, an app could access another app's stuff) needing closed and reopened, and secondly due to its inefficient use of RAM.

i was under the impression that the registry was a necessary feature of a windows OS. they would have to begin the whole thing again and model it on a unix system to eliminate this problem and then all previous windows programs would be nonfunctional on the new system.

now the only other way to make sure windows does not need a reboot to install stuff is to make the system update the registry on the fly. This is done to a certain extent in the current versions of windows, and if they continue along this road (and this is in fact what i think they will do), they can only expect greater instability as a result of excessive registry errors.

Good luck with your new windows .NET, which i hear you will be renting rather than buying, so that when they stop renting it to you in three years you will be forced to upgrade to the next version, however i will stick with my stable, free, secure and completely legal operating system of choice, Mandrake Linux, thank you very much.

Anyhow, it's just you posting here, Your brain can't really handle more than one thought at a time, can it? You read a little, then you post, then you read some more, then you post. Even XP Luser thinks you

That is pretty fucked up. And as far as attacking you personally, I just wanted others to not waste their time on you, because it's obvious you just want attention. There's no other reason you would just come here to post such inflammatory statements, which are quite ignorant to say the least, they don't even make sense. You don't know anything about Linux, regardless of what you say. I doubt you are even an advanced user in windows, you are just a sad little boy with a computer, and an internet connection. Why don't you go hit linuxnewbie.org, they're more at your level, they'll cringe when they see your "mighty" posts, you'll own them there.

FbrOp: Linux sux, I am Kewl!
NEWBIE: Eeeek! it's FbrOp! Don't mess with him!
FbrOp: I own you! XP rules!
NEWBIE: Maybe he's right, I'm gonna save up $200 bucks and get XP
FbrOp: Ur All Lamerz!!!!!
NEWBIE: FbrOp, can you tell me how to install Window blinds for XP?
FbrOp: Linux sux, I am Kewl! Look at me! Look at me! Look at me! Look at me!Look at me!Look at me!Look at me!Look at me!Look at me!Look at me!Look at me!Look at me!Look at me!Look at me!Look at me!Look at me!Look at me!Look at me!Look at me!Look at me!Look at me!Look at me!Look at me! I am getting attention!
