The majority of people already get microsoft office/works on the PC they buy. They aren't going to just spend $50 on software from a company they have never heard of. They will continue to use microsoft office because it does the job (but in a shitty way). Or if they here about open office they might get it.

The majority of businesses probably already have microsoft office. Many businesses want to use a cheaper option. Is a business going to pay money for software from some unknown company. Or is a business going to download open office for free and pay for a support contract.

Sounds like a good idea but it's going to fail. I wouldn't even download a warez copy of it. Nothing wrong with the software itself but anyone who wants to get rid of microsoft probably will get openoffice.
