Have you ever bought MS software?
when i bought the laptop it came with windows ME.
when i bought the desktop it had winME installed on it, but i didn't get any install media and there was no way the cost of windows was included in the desktop's price at the cost i got it, so i suspect i've only paid for windows once. of course the first thing i did with that desktop was wipe windows.

i have got illegal copies of windows 98, windows 2000, office 97 and office 2000 but i don't have those installed anywhere and actually i don't even know where they are (so maybe i don't have them).
Oh yes! also i bought a copy of windows 3.11 and MSDOS 6.22 second hand for

I got msdos6.22 and windows 95 floppy edition as presents. I also have a legitimate (but not payed for) copy of XP that came with a computer that never had it installed - the computer came with both 2k and xp so they chose 2k.

Tip for win98 (l)users: type copy /con/con in your command prompt to increase stability

i have never bought any microsoft product. My computer didnt come with an OS, in fact i dont think it came with a hard drive (i bought most the pieces and put it together myself). I havent bought much software myself at all. The last two pieces of software i bought came with books, Linux Max Security (comes with many apps) and C++ for Linux (comes with compilers and stuff on CD)

Yea im in m0rs position, build my own. Say mac people? Can you build a mac as easy as a PC? didnt think so.

Of cource PC's really suck, because of there brand diversity, theres nothing worse then 6 million brands of broken hardware because they have to make it really cheap to compete.

Nope,

Never payed for a piece of M$ shit.  Then again, I'm running Win2k Adv. Server; so u do the math ;)

It's really not worth my money.  Come to think about it, I don't think I have ever seen a shrink wrapped copy of windoze.

i had the pleasure of throwing almost two dozen Compaq OEM unopened copies of windows xp and 2000 in  the bin the other day. sadly it was only because the windows 20000 at work here gets installed via the network so they don't need the install media  :(

i have never had a computer work as flawlessly as my mac. so i really dont care to build my own, it already works great. i do like the ability to build a pc from cheap parts, but thats the problem, they are cheap parts. now, i could spend the money and get quality parts, but i would spend just as much money on a mac. so why bother?

Your honor, I plead.... Guilty.

Yes, when I was 17 and stupid, I bought Pinball Arcade......

my win95.5 (98 install w/95 shell) is illegal as hell, no other MS components installed....

I bought a PC that came with WinMe.  And I vow never to buy M$hit anything ever again, even if it comes with a PC.  But, i've also bought a Linux OS, so that saves me a little right?
