Master of Reality:
how big were the files? They are meant to be burned onto CDs and should be around 640 MB.
to get rid of windows and install linux just boot off the Linux CD and the installation is pretty straight forward from there.

linux55:
im downloading the files but ther nowhere near 650 mb

am i doing something wrong ?

is it only going to be 650 mbs when i brun it to cd....?

should i just go and buy it on cd ?

Im a total noob to linux etc...

Suse usally does not have the latest versions iso online. so you will be downloading all the files individualy which can be a pain. i personally went out and bought Suse 8.0 pro and it was well worth the 80 bucksand their tech support was good on it. you could also try to download the Suse live eval version. it is the full system but it runs off your cd so you don't have to partion to try it and see if you like it. I would go with the live eval version first just to see then go out and actually buy it. also for the live eval you should have a reasonable speed cdrom or it can e slow

Ice-9:
Indeed, SuSE doesn't offer iso's for download.
Instead of that they opted for an ftp install, this can be a pain because (at least from where I am) the connection with any SuSE ftp is shitty, but on the other hand you can be sure always to have the latest files available for the OS and for all of the software that comes with it.

I personally bought the cd's (43 euros for the Personal Edition) and I'm doing an online update every week.
