Master of Reality:
I just got an e-mail from a supposed "microsoft" address ([email protected]). It was sent to about a hundred hotmail adresses and was an ad for porno.

I get those too, but then in the form of:
[email protected]

Which are impossible to block, because next time, they change it into:
[email protected]

So I'll always recieve their stupid spam

Master of Reality:
this was at my hotmail account which currently has 1200 e-mails in it.. all spam.

Xenoran:
All web-based email sucks... especially HotMail. If you need it to be web-based, the best thing you can do is sign up for a really cheap Linux/Unix-based webhost, pick up a cheap domain and then install SquirrelMail on the webserver. It's free and it beats the hell out of every other free AND pay web-based email service.

voidmain:
Very true. I have my own Linux mail servers and use "imp" for web based access for my users. It's nice being able to use ORDB to block addresses and put sendmail milter filters in place to block certain types of attachments, and being able to run other spam filters.. The only thing the spam server like hotmail are good for are for garbage spam accounts...
