Is there a linux equivalent of TMGPenc that anyone knows of?

Yes, it was probably the single largest pain in the ass I have ever had in getting an app to work when I installed it. It was insane.  However, the work paid off because it works pretty well.  Hopefully they'll get things cleaned up and get some nice fresh RPMs made with everything needed.

And BTW, I don't have that library.  So I don't remember if it was required by MEncoder which I also no longer have installed.  I had replaced the hard drive on that desktop machine and installed a fresh RH73 install on it and never went to the trouble of reinstalling MEncoder.

I had installed it for a specific project and I no longer need it.  I created MPG and AVI movies of a series of JPEG images for the project I did but it also works well for converting movies from one format to another.  So basically all I am saying is I will not be of much help to you on specifics of installing.  All I remember is that it was a terrific pain in the ass, but worth it.
