Digital Camera Problems
preacher:
I bought an Argus DC 1512 digital camera because it was cheap. Unfortunately it doesnt seem to work with Mandrake 9.1 and gphoto2. Im using the program gtkam. The camera seems to be getting power from the usb bus and when I go to the add camera option, only the Argus DC 1500 is listed, however that driver doesnt work with this camera. So if anyone can help, or knows where I can find an answer, help me out.
Kintaro:
You may need to change permissions in /dev/whateverusbisiforget
I did to use my cam, without root privs.
preacher:
Well I tried running gtkam as root, but it still is unable to initialize the digital camera. Im doing a google search now to see if I can find any info.
Kintaro:
Rather odd indeed then.
emh:
Can you mount the camera as a removable storage device?
On my Mandrake 9.1, when I plug in my digital camera, an icon pops up on my desktop telling me where the camera is mounted. (usually /mnt/removable) Then, you just simply type "mount /mnt/removable" and your camera is ready to use.
