Problems installing Kopete on Mandrake 9.2! HELP!

I just loaded Mandrake on this computer and I can't get this to work... I also tried AIM with no luck either...

I got it working but it doesn't show anyone online... what's the port that i should use to sign on AIM?

have you tried GAIM? ( http://gaim.sf.net/ )

ALOT better than kopete or native cleints, the trillian of linux, it even shares some code with trillian (mainly patches for connecting to IM networks)
