How to Login to Gnome?

I just installed Gnome and then Ximian Desktop on top of that, Ive been using KDE forever and thought I'd give Gnome a second look.

any way now that I have it installed how do I add it to my options when I login

 Im using the default KDE login manager for SuSE 8.2

Assuming KDE3 works like KDE2

As root, go to the KDE control panel.

Under System->Login select the "Sessions" tab.

Add a new session type.

Just puts me into KDE when I choose gnome

That's not what should happen.
Are you sure you got it from SuSE and installed it with yast?
Did you tried it from a terminal?

Allready tried to acces it before starting X?
(#startx gnome2 )
If it's really installed, that should at least give you a message.)
