Noatun vs. XMMS
Refalm:
I must say I like Noatun better than XMMS. Not only because of the many plug-ins, but because it looks better than XMMS (XMMS is compiled with GTK+ 1, not 2, which makes any program look like shit), the sound is much better, it got sound effects that make SRS WoW (Windows Media Player) look amateuristic, and you can choose from multiple GUI's (simple, excellent, Kaiman, K-Jofol, Milkchocolate, Winamp-like).
And, XMMS seems to be sponsored by 4Front technologies, which is an evil corperation that makes shareware Linux sound drivers (30 day trial), while open source sounddrivers are way better.
EDIT: And did I mention that Noatun has support for Winamp skins like XMMS does? And that you can add by file extentions like Winamp can?
XMMS is now version 1.28 and they still compile it for GTK 1.
If you show your friends Linux, don't run XMMS. It's nothing compared to Noatun.

XMMS is skinned - what difference does the GTK version have on how it looks?
