Master of Reality:
Do I really need 32 Megs of RAM to install Linux?
I have 16 Megs right now on my other computer, but I am gonna get oodles more next week, so should I wait till next week to install Linux??
Master of Reality:
Is linux4win any good???
or is it a piece of hippy shit?
voidmain:
Depending on the distro you should be able to install it with only about 4MB but don't plan on running X, at least be prepared for it to run very slow. Many years ago I used to run it regularly on 4MB machines but today I have a personal minimum of 128MB for server and 256MB for desktop (at least while RAM is cheap).
voidmain:
I have no personal experience with win4lin but have read many reviews. I bought VMware which works extremely well (wouldn't run it on a slow machine with less than 256MB though).
runkpock:
For pure performance, make sure you have 2 gigs
of swap for every 8M of ram. That makes it real
fast. Then you should install winex and run
mozilla for windows under linux. Nice. Thats
all I got to say.
