Ext 3 vs NTFS
Faust:
quote:what about NTFS vs EXT3 for space wasting?
--- End quote ---
That would depend on cluster size, but isnt that "choosable" with some of the more geeky patition tools?
Master of Reality:
yes Ext3 is "choosable". I know the slackware installer asks you which amount of "something" per "something" you would like on the partition..... cant remember the names.
choasforages:
too bad reiser4 isn't out, its going to kick the shit out of everything out their when its done, including that new sql hack microsoft is gonna try and call a filesystem
KernelPanic:
It asks you for the inode size. Either 1K, 2K or 4K. Obviously the smaller ones save space with smaller files.
Faust:
Whats the betting that the new SQL hack (Isn't hack used for a well made thing? So shouldn't it be "kludge"?) will be totally incompatible with all other OS's and will be closed source, so that it will always be incompatible with all other OS's? :(
