Seth:
Came across this site with google. Will this be enough to run games (MSDOS 6.0 or greater) that were released pre Win95 ?

It should be.  It's kindof tricky to set up.

I never got the sound working...

You can use MS DOS, PC DOS, DR-DOS, or FreeDOS with it.  FreeDOS may have compatibility issues with some programs.

DOSEMU disables the ALT key.  If you run it in console mode, there is a way around that, but it's non ideal because a DOS crash can leave you unable to communicate with your computer.

Yikes...I guess if the game is buggy to begin with then I shouldn't even bother then, huh ?
The game I wanted to try is called Daggerfall (or Buggerfall as it was called when it was released) ; it is from Bethesda (http://www.bethsoft.com).  I do have an old COMPAQ Presario 4508 w/With 95 that runs the game perfectly, but alas it is in its last legs. While doing a scandisk last time, it found quite a lot of bad clusters in the HDD !!
As the game is practically unplayable in MS's                       newer OSs or faster CPUs (I don't want to use any utilities to slowdown my processor), I suppose I could look for another older computer.....   :(

I would rather try it in Linux if possible. Any sugestions ?

If your computer is fast enough, you could try Bochs:

http://bochs.sourceforge.net

There's also Dosbox
