That reminds me of the 400 watt inverter I just picked up for my camping trip this coming weekend. It has two 110 outlets and plugs into your lighter (or battery clamps for heavier loads). Only $28 at Sams. Let's see car batteries aren't that expensive so for under $100 you could have a nice UPS that would last several hours.
You could also plug a battery charger into one of the outlets so you can keep the battery charged when the power goes out. Then you have infinite UPS capabilities.
