A few programs?

VMware worked perfectly for me on RH7x but it's not performing the greatest under RH8. Everything works, it justs that it's hogging far more CPU under RH8. I have been reading up on the VMware forums and this apparently has to do with some kernel patches that RedHat added in 8.0. I could recompile my kernel without those patches and probably be back to excellent performance but I've been too lazy.
It's actually been a blessing in disguise because I find myself not loading up Windows in VMware at all any more. Not just because of the performance issue, but because RH8 is so much better I've been able to fully convert my family to RedHat. But I do still use VMware for things like booting CD images and other operating systems and for testing. Maybe RedHat will have this sorted out in 8.1 or VMware will have a patch soon depending on whos fault it is. There is a workaround for the performance issue but it didn't seem to help me that much.

the only reasons i would need VMWare is for Dreamweaver MX, Adobe Photoshop 7, and Games..
Some of which i believe won't run anyhow.. DirectX emulation isn't the greatest to my knowledge.
I don't like the idea of Windows, but i figure if i can emulate the few things i do like, it's worth having about.
Otherwise.. i only need to play music, DVDs, and DivX

I remember running older versoin of dreamweaver and photoshop in wine. Maybe the new versions will work, too.

Kewl.. Thanks guys.

Of all the options here finding a Native Linux WYSIWIG would be best for you. Failing that you could run VMware, but thats expensive. Or you could use wine which is free.
Information on setting up Dreamweaver in wine can be found on www.frankscorner.org
Now it's your call...
