Mandrake 9.0 or RedHat 8.0?
Bazoukas:
Red Hat kicks is ownage.
You can select from plain old easy as hell using the GUI or you can go all crazy and go old school using commands. Combines both worlds.
Pantso:
Well, I haven't tried either yet, but from what I've heard and read, RedHat 8.0 is the way to go. I've used Mandrake in the past (8.1 and 8.2) as well as RedHat (6.0, 6.2, 7.1) and liked RedHat more. Anyway, it's up to you. Both distros are really user friendly so you shouldn't have any problems setting up your Linux box.
voidmain:
RedHat is better, faster, leaner, meaner, and the people who use it are much better looking.
Doctor V:
Redhat is better, but there are some in and outs that make it more complicated than Mandrake. So if your willing to spend that time to learn a few new things, go with RedHat.

Abigail:
