nvidia releases new Linux drivers

(1/1)

slave:
get 'em

preacher:
I like the fact that no longer are there multiple different versions of the driver for all the different distros. Also they went from two seperate pieces of the driver to just one. This makes for a much simpler driver install. Its a simple shell script, and the install goes like this:

sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-4349.run

Thats it. I think its that simple even on systems like slackware. No more complicated compiling. You do still have to edit the XF86Config-4 file.

driver "nv"

change to

driver "nvidia"

It works good with Mnadrake 9.1 and I just played bzflag using it.

Pantso:
Unfortunately, I don't have an nVidia card, but I really like the support they offer to Linux users. That should set an example for other hardware vendors as well.
