Ok ive got two days, gimmy a distro
Calum:
i understand completely.
SAJChurchey:
The only distro i've ran on a machine that old is SuSE 7.2 on a 200MHz machine, but I'm not sure if you have enough RAM to run GUI.
It comes w/ a lot of packages that can do a lot of things that you never thought possible w/ a 200 MHz machine in this day and age.
Doogee:
err actually i got mandrake 9 to run quite well on my p266. but dads got that one at the moment and hes giving me 64 megs of ram in return so ill have a p2-266 with 96 meg of ram. i beleive that is sufficient.
beltorak0:
ZipSlack requires installation to a UMSDOS file. It was designed for newbs who are shakey about messing with the partition stuff (ala fips). I think 2 gigs is the limit of the file.
DragonLinux is based off ZipSlack and 2 gigs is the limit. It is also the first distro i tried -- but never got working... tis why i went with slack proper anyway, and i am much happier for it.
-t.
pkd_lives:
Try this out.
Linux-Antarctica
The gzip is 250MBs.
