(1/2) > >>

HPC GUY:
Goddammit, i installed suse 8.1 on my xp system to dual boot and now i get an error

root (hd1,0)
Filesystem Unknown, partition type 0X7
makeactive
chainloader +1

so any ideas people? im sure its a simple fix but im not sure what needs to be changed in the boot loader. my Xp and suse partitions are on different hard drives

Crunchy(Cracked)Butter:
SuSE i think doesn't support NTFS...

HPC GUY:
actually it does, my work computer does xp and suse just fine.

Crunchy(Cracked)Butter:
Bummer...i cannot help you then.

Pantso:
That's also a first. I've never had this problem myself on my second laptop BUT you should really go with the FAT32 filesystem when you dualboot. The reason is that Linux can read and write on FAT32 partitions, whereas this is simply not the case with NTFS ones. Tell me something, did you use YAST2 to shrink your NTFS partition?
