best linux distro

anyway. it all depends on how experienced you are. if you're new to linux, try red hat or suse. if you're not new, then probably any distro.

it give descriptions of many of the different distributions.  Which is best for you really depends on what you are going to do with it.  You can't lose with Redhat, but many beginners also enjoy Mandrake and Suse.  There are also many who say slackware is the best.  FreeBSD (a near linux) might be best for a pure server.
