Allright. Stupid Question for installed apps.

Bazoukas:
I installed Seti@home (the rpm). Install went great.  Here is the problem though. There is no icon to be found to start the program.  When I type in shell "setiathome" the program starts but it runs on the backround. I cant see shit of whats going on.  And when the program 1st starts it should had ask me to create a user account. But nothing.

How can I bring the GUI of a program on my screen when that happens?
I also had the same problem with PengAOL. I wanted to check it out, but same exact problem as above.

I haven't run Seti for quite some time, but when I did, the main engine was non-graphical. That is, it runs in the background. There was a separate X app that you ran to see the graphical progress (looked similar to the Windows version). The directions on the web site were very short and easy to follow when I ran it. Did you read the docs?

Bazoukas:
ooooooooooops.  Some resedue from windows in me still i see.

Detach my self from GUI only world, I must .

Master of Reality:
there is an RPM????
i isntalled from the tarball. i just run seti with the verbose option (/usr/local/setiathome/setiathome -verbose

there is an x version of seti with the tarball. it is called xsetiathome

voidmain:
You can check if it's included in your RPM by doing an "rpm -qil setiathome" (or whatever the name of the RPM is that is installed).
