Sawfish not running...

Maybe this is a dumb question, or I didn't configure something, but for whatever reason, Sawfish will not load when I select it from the login menu.  When I select it and log in, it just hangs at the grey and black X-Windows screen.  The desktop will not come up.  Any suggestions?

I am using SuSE 8.0.  I tried it on a few different computers, but I get nothing.

err, sawfish, i thought that was a component of gnome. i didn't think it like a windowmanager/gui like windowmaker blackbox, twm,fvwm or anyother number of things. i think sawfish does just that, manage windows.
