witch version of linux for beginers?..
« on: 1 March 2002, 21:14 »
hello, my main question is witch is the best flavor of linux for a newbie, the only os's ive ever used is mac os9 and winME(yea i know). basicly im fed up with windows and for awhile have been interested in linux. what i would like to have is a dual boot with  some sort or linux and winME, (i know winME is a pile of crap but i dont wanna fork out more cash to microsuck for a new windows)...
So basicly i would like to know what would be the best linux for me and also where to find a good text or something to tell me how to install both.
thanks for reading and thank you to anyone that replies.

Ok here is what you need to do.....install ME on one partition then install Mandrake on the other.  Redhat is also fine for beginers so it will do just as well but I think Mandrake is still best for newbies.

When you are done tell us how you did.

Good luck

Hey,

Also I have 5 tutorials on Mandrake at my website. They will help you get things going. As time goes on I plan to write alot more but for the moment these 5 should get most people going.
