i would vote for about fifty linuces, not that i have tried them all but fuxxake! for instance, i wouldn't put JAILBAIT linux on my pentium 4 whiz bang 3Ghz 80GB NVidia monster if i had one but if i had to put an embedded linux and XWindows on less than 16MB on an i-opener then i would prefer JAILBAIT over, say, mandrake. This 'poll' is a very badly disguised attempt to get people to sign up on fuckedgrounds. and it won't work.

its basically whichever distro works best for your machine(S). On my main machine, Evil Entity seems to be best, then RedHat, then slackware (but EvilE is built on slackware). On my server i prefer slackware.

i prefer to use a bit of paper and a pencil. I think that's a much better solution than using a microsoft (TM) pen solution, as the filesystem is more versatile and can be rewritten on.
