kernel headers - again

Gosh, this is a pain in the arse.
Now i now exactly what kernel headers to find,
2.4.8-26mdk.

So i do google, and it directs me to rpmfind.net.
But when i want to download it, it says 'file not found'.

Does anyone happen to know more possible kernel-header-sourcecode download websites ??

voidmain:
Don't you have the Mandrade CD?  It would (should) be on one of them under Mandrake/RPMS.

Here is an FTP site in the Netherlands with the RPMS for the 8.1 Source RPMS:

ftp://ftp.nl.uu.net/pub/linux/mandrake/8.1/SRPMS

Download the "kernel-2.4.8-26mdk.src.rpm" and then do a:

rpm --rebuild kernel-2.4.8-26mdk.src.rpm

which should rebuild and install the individual RPM packages associated with the kernel (if it's anything like RedHat). In RedHat it would also place the resulting binary RPMS in /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/i386, I assume Mandrake would place them in a similar directory, just watch the last few messages of the rpm --rebuild for the resulting location.

Are the kernel headers within the source package ?
'cuz the only thing i need, are the headers.

Maybe i should download something like kernel-headers-2.4.8-26mdk.rpm ? if there is any ?
i'll take a peek right now.

foobar:
Nope.
The ftp.nl.uu.net doesn't contain any files with the word 'kernel' in it.

Is it wise to download the entire source (which will take about an hour and a half (  modem !) ?

voidmain:
Huh?  What's this?
ftp://ftp.nl.uu.net/pub/linux/mandrake/8.1/SRPMS/kernel-2.4.8-26mdk.src.rpm

It's 30MB so if you are on a modem I wouldn't download it. Tell you what, I am downloading it now and I'll see if I can build you a kernel-headers from it on my RedHat box (don't have a Mandrake installed on anything at the moment). Otherwise it should be out there somewhere.  I'll look on some of the other Mandrake mirrors.
