Of course you won't have to reinstall, but you might have to do a boot: rescue at the install prompt on the CD and do a cp (I think) to restore it.  But as you said, it's only sound, right?

i think he meant safe as in other people gaining access to his sound. I figure the worst that could happen if someone possibly got access to your computer would be someone sending swear words through your sound. But if someone was in your computer you'd have bigger problems than that.

(or they oculd send some loud noise to blow your speackers (and ears))
