Yo, RHL 8.1 beta r00ks your w0rld

I installed it on my other hard disk, so I'm bootin between redhat 8 and 8.1 beta (phoebe)  It's very cool, the fonts are great (so nice looking that I don't even feel the need to install the MS fonts) and there are a lot of cool new features in gnome, like font previews, a show desktop button, startup notification, nice shadows under the mouse cursor, better looking bluecurve, and so on.  The only dumb thing is that it uses a patched kernel 2.4.20 that red hat has backported some of the 2.5 stuff into, and my nvidia drivers won't compile.  Oh well.  Otherwise it's a very good distro.

preacher:
Is red hat adding ntfs partition resizing to their installer too? I read that Mandrake is doing this for their next release.

By the way, why not just install the stock 2.4.20 linux kernel too and then you can get the nvidia drivers to work.

Actualy, I'm having troubles w/ my video card which works fine in RH 8.0.  I've submitted it to bugzilla, and trying to work it out now.  I hope they resolve this problem b4 the release, or i may have to be counted out of the next release, which would really suck.

TheQuirk:
Could you upload some screenshots?

And did that piss on KDE again? Is it included?
