adding things to menu?

Master of Reality:
this might be a stupid question but how do i add buttons to applications on my taskbar and how do i add links to applications in the main menu?
("right click>add button" only lets you add buttons that are already in you main menu)

Right-click on the "K" start button. Select "Menu-Editor".
