hi

been trying to make a bootable, but every time i format a floppy it returns errors.  if i just mkbootdisk it fails boot.

can't boot from cd on my system for some reason

i have gone through 14 floppys, all used.....

yes all used but hard to believe that not one of them is any good. or maybe so?  GRRRR

has anyone seen infallible errors in formatting?

running red hat linux 7.2

reason i need a bootable is to avoid losing access to linux when i install winblows 98 on the little partition i set aside for it's stupid ass on my old hd.  that bastard.

maybe i can just download an image from winblows?
the disk i used to boot into linux install was made in windows and it still works fine, though i am reluctant to format it for a few reasons.

suggestions?

oh, also, what is the best way to use streaming audio in linux?  i'm new to all this...

rhcp is on my list of training to-do's at school now.... WEEEEE!  or is there a preferable cert for linux?

CALUM YOU KICK ASS!!

Calum:
wow! even though i kick ass, apparently, i am in no position to confidently answer either of your questions!

still, thanks for saying i kick ass!!  :D

Master of Reality:
i've had problems with boot disks in linux. I have 3 bootdisks and when i needed to use them none of them would work, i ended up reinstalling linux again after i had installed windows.

sporkme:
yeah reinstalling is looking like the likely solution but i will try a few of those things on the net.  thanks everyone!

lucky for me it takes less than 5 min to install linux
