I just did a:

# apt-get install mplayer-skins

and it installed both mplayer pre9 and the skins. No compiling (the RPMS are on http://www.freshrpms.net/).

This is very true....I cant understand as to why some people crib about RH 8, when so much of hard work has been put into making this distro rock! RedHat is certainly moving in the RIGHT direction..

I downloaded RH 8.0 I liked it so much I went out and purchased the boxed version.  If I download a distro and like it I most certainly will purchase it.  I think 40.00 for a great OS is a steal.  And the fact i can try it before I buy it.  I wish everyone could see the greatness of Linux.
