LordWiccara:
Ok, i want to not screw up Linux this time....I have Red Hat Linux 9, and I want to get a Wine program to play some games on (ex. Starcraft, Diablo, Diablo II, and Counter Strike).  First, which one do i get?...the source and compile it or one of the prekacked distros. Also, I tried to install it in the past, and I completely missed how to do it...so can someone give me some good step-by-setp instructions to installing it? thanks, and sorry yet again for my stupid questions

KernelPanic:
Read the FAQ on WineX there.

But, do not follow the instructions!
They are for version 2.2.1 and you will nead 3.0 and to pass some compile options to make it work with RH9's UNIX threads implimentation.

In a little while I will post some instuctions here for you. Thats unless anyone else wants to first...

Pantso:
Wait for Tux's advice. He's literally the Wine expert/guru of these forums.     I'd like to help but I never used or going to use Wine, not because I don't like it but because I don't have any Windows programs to run.   :D

Faust:
Ah the curse of a gaming addiction.  :(
Speaking of Tux being the gaming expert wasn't there going to be a FAQ made a little while ago?
Anyways I will be apt-getting wine shortly so I should be able to offer some small advice on the config side but I'm still very much the newbie at wine.

KernelPanic:
Oops, sorry about that Faust and everybody. I ment to
to link to the WineX FAQ in my previous post.
It is over in the tips section at void's BS.

Quirk is supposed to me mirroring it to the MES AQ
but hasn't...

I think I wll download RH9.0 tonight and install
it tomorrow so that I can give advice on these
new GLIBC2.3.2 systems.
I will try Mandrake 9.1 sometime soon too.
