Well heating is certainly not needed where I am at the moment.  It's about 115F with the heat index (98F without heat index).  My AC is eating up far more than my computers are.

congrats; i still use windoze for compatibility with Wife 1.0 (she is definately not computer-savvy, and she uses Lycos chat (the jave version sucks ass)     ); and the fscking win-printer (i have no luck getting the gs print driver to work with LPRng); and games are necessary.... when i want to play them.  I can't really get CM5000 to work right under wine; and the CIV II animations take a full three seconds per unit move thru wine.... really slow for 7 civ's with a full military running a war on 4 fronts....   ;)  .

i just won an auction on a p2 system with redhat 7.3 preinstalled.  total cost:  $27 including shipping.

i think i can afford to leave it on. (once it gets here)
