The Lindows Notebook

Yes, the idiots at Lindows have launched another inferior, low cost product. Look at the specs (from their site):
My issue(s) with this chart:
#1: Did they just suggest that the C3's performance is comparable to that of a PIII or a G4?!
#2: What PowerBook are they referring to? If it is indeed the 12'', that model has no PC Card slot. Also, I guess which one I would rather be running Photoshop on?

back to that whole whole mhz thing. there is no way that it could compare to the powerBook. at least, in my opinion it couldnt...

Inferior and Low Cost???
Yes, I agree, It's not the greatest thing out there you can get, but it's perfect for the low budget.

Okay I did not do my homework on this subject but it does seem fishy and ill explain.
The Pentium III is old (in the computer world). I've not seen a pentium III labtop/desktop being sold in a long time. Thus them prices for the PIII must be old. You cannot compare last year's prices to this years. Nearly 2 grand for a PIII labtop? Give me a break.
Also, that lindows labtop looks pretty slim for it's price tag.

Okay, I found some claims to back me up. All products found on Ebay so prices may vary alittle.
IBM ThinkPad X30 , 1.06ghz, 128 ram, XP Pro - $710.00
IBM ThinkPad X30 , 1.2ghz, 256 ram, 40 gig HD, Mad amount of software w/ it, warrany - $1,375.00
Toshiba Portege 2000 , 750mhz, 256 ram, 20 gig HD, Windows XP Pro - $1,399.00
Keep in mind that these are from people not the company, BUT most of these come with alot of software and what not to make up for not being factory direct.
