The Lindows Notebook

I'd rather get a Sotec. Like this one, for example: http://www.sotecglobal.com/us/products/?catid=11&subid=102&prodid=1002
100% compatible with Linux. Cheap. There are refurbished units going for about $700, and are very nice. In fact, I might get one.

There is one thing I really like about Lindows as a company that just isnt happening with many other linux companies. They are pushing hard to have their OS preinstalled on new PC's. This is the kind of thinking that Linux companies need to have. They teamed up with a low cost hardware manufacturer to give you what linux should be, cheap and easy.

This notebook is WAY TOO HOT!! It's pretty cheap compared to the other notebooks out there....Something like 38,000 Rs in Indian currency. If I had that much cash, wud have bought it instantly and installed RH8!!

If you were to install something other than Lindows on there - than it's probably great.
One small exception: the thing has no drives. Not internal, and the external drives are optional.

That's a really cool website, The Muffin Man. I have one set on my desktop.
