I'm pretty new here, and I just want to salute every one. We are dealing here with a huge problem. Everyone is trapped into m$ products, since only commercial linux distros are available (quite expensive, not as windows, but there is no advantage of free software to drug people out of m$). dial up connections are so slow, and dsl are so expensive, and downloading iso images is just out of the question. I envy you people out there, there are so many distributions to try out, and for us that is only dreamland. Is there something we can do about except waiting?
Mistshadow:
CDs of the free distros are cheap and easy to find. And the best part is, you only need one cd set of any distro; you can then install it on as many computers as you need to, so you can pass it around to your friends and make as many copies as you want to. Here are some links for you:

Just be sure to shop around for the best deal.
Hope that helps.
