SCO Scum!

Smug little company aren't they, obviously egged on and backed by M$ scum, who the fuck do they think they are?

What can be done about this??

I'd like to hear what you think will happen to SCO, will they just be ignored, are they infact doing more damage to themself, without any outside help?

SCO's press release

Yes, they are finally officially saying that they own Linux and people who want to use it must pay a licencing fee to them.

This has seriously gone too far.

jasonlane:
So what are we going to do about it? I think this site should arrange something, we have it in our power to pretty much do anything we set our collective minds to....no?

No one uses their distro anymore. (I used to, but not anymore.)

jasonlane:
Yes we could do that....Like Nero playing his fiddle while Rome burnt, a bit theatrical I know. People listen to this shit though, they actually sit down and read the news or IT press, Daily PC or whatever. When it says in their daily gutter press or Daily PC, "SCO has been wronged, Linux is communism. We must legislate against this evil, SCO is only doing what's right, getting what belongs to them". Most people think yeah, that's right, whitout knowing any of the full implications.  Well I kind of feel that I should be doing something while I still can, not a question of if anyone uses their distro or not. That is besides the point. We are the Anti M$ site, yes? Well I feel that SCO is also part of that, they after all are being backed by M$, I can just see things going very badly. Perhaps I'm over reacting. However saying "no one uses their distro anymore" is all well and good, what if they actually get what they want? Were does that leave us, everyone? You?

Ah perhaps I'm just over reacting    :(
