linux getting a bigger slice of the pie?
doublefresh:
I just saw this article in Time magazine.
Walmart is offering a 800MHZ complete system with a distro of Linux on it for $200
Walmart is a huge chain and at this price it could get a large number of users who would not try Linux otherwise to take a peek.
More exposure means more programs for Linux and a smaller share of the pie for MS.
Doctor V:
Yes, I think Linux on desktops will continue to rise. Which distro is on them? I would however love to see Linuxes preinstalled on laptops, and that is without paying for windows on top of everything.

Master of Reality:
this has been posted before.
They run mandrake.. i dont recall seeing laptops.
voidmain:
They also used to offer <cough> Lindows. Don't know if they still are.
pkd_lives:
They still offer Lindows, which is a shame.
But they also ofer Mandrake AND Lycoris now, and they also sell no OS systems.
