On the contrary, I believe that people will buy it, if the folks at Macromedia make up their minds finally and release a version for Linux! The same goes for Apple and QuickTime  as well!

Of course. I'll make up 50% of their client base!

i find it difficult to respond here without it sounding like i am personally insulting thequirk. bear in mind this is not the intention. here goes.

what? who told you that? it's that sort of braindead windoid thinking that keeps linux off the desktops of most people. i can't stand linux elitists who want to keep linux to themselves so they can sneer at the drones, there's no place for elitism at the MS eradication society surely because it's all about levelling the land for everybody.

anyway what i am saying is HORSE PILES to you quirk, why wouldn't people pay for it? they pay for VMWare, they pay for tons of stuff! lots of people pay for staroffice in linux! if macromedia can't come up with a product people would pay for then i seriously doubt they would have got this far. and how dare you imply that linux users are cheapskates? get a clue!

also, now macromedia have opened the format up, it's only a matter of time before somebody starts making an open source linux flash creator, if macromedia want to get some of the action (i doubt it, they are probably stupid enough to believe the "linux users are cheapskates"FUD that certain people spread around) then they will have to be quick about it.

SAJChurchey:
Actually I heard they were going to port Dreamweaver MX over to Linux.  Flash MX may be also.  Just a rumor...neither confirmed or denied...

Calum:
all the more reason to send them a lot of emails NOW, have you ever heard of vapourware? it doesn't work as well in the open source world, but i bet there's somebody out there now thinking "i could make a flash program, or i could wait for the macromedia port, fuck it, i'll wait".

SAJChurchey:
Hmmm...good point.  Perhaps I should look more into this and see what's going on w/ Macromedia here lately.
