You might want to look into Gentoo Linux. It's supposed to be the fastest. They tweaked it up just for speed.

yeah i tried to get it working on my main computer but my isp was being ghey at the time /*still is*/ i will probably end up using gentoo, though, i just need the machine up now, i think i am going to use FreeBSD on it. actually, OpenBSD doens't look too bad, though, cuase i am looking to use the 100mhz system for a server, though thanks for the advice

o and for xp luser, suprissingly i am actally installing a MODERN os on the computer that will run very well a machine of those specs. BSD is soo damned good even microsoft uses it, so put that in your pipe and smoke it, /*couldn't resist telling the truth*/
