How do I use my Broadband with Linux ?

suselinux:
You don't NEED an exterior firewall if your using Mandrake and only Mandrake.  Most every Linux Distro comes with a great firewall, Mandrake has the configuration for it's own fwall in the Mandrake control center( really easy to find and use)

Windows_SuX_@$$:
  thats cool I realy want to start using mandrake will i be able to use some of my my Window$ progz on it somehow? [ ex. AIM, P2P progz] [Not those shitty progz like office they arnt worth using ]

hm_murdock:
most stuff has a Linux counterpart and you don't need windows apps at all

kibawarior:
usb adsl modems all work especailly the speed touch usb.

to set up ethernet cards or broadband modems you have to open control center click on hardware section then open up modemdrake your etho card will be pre set you just double click on your etho then type your username and password for your dsl conection and your set.

if you are using a usb dsl modem then you will have to select ad new modem it will detect it then ask you for a suitable driver and walah type in your username and password and away you go lil bro
