Noooo

(1/1)

KernelPanic:
I had some very important backups. I had an empty partition on /dev/hdg1.

I used mke2fs to make a filesystem on it. I put my important backups on it.
Next time I boot, when I mount /dev/hdg1 there is nothing there!
Is there any way to get this very important data back?

Pleeeease, I am gonna cry  :(

Master of Reality:
so you have 7 hard drives?

Stryker:
wow, 7 is impressive. or if you have 1 then it'd be /dev/hdaX, or on the second hard drive, /dev/hdbX, and so forth. Whereas X would be the partition number on that disk.

KernelPanic:
No I dont have 7 hard drives but I have a hard drive controller card which is why that particular disk is hdg1. But, nobody can think of a way for me to get this data?
