real audio alternitives?

<< < (2/3) > >>

voidmain:
They are on the download page "win32 codecs":
http://ftp.lug.udel.edu/MPlayer/releases/w32codec.tar.bz2

Untar/bz them and put them in a directory called "/usr/lib/win32".

distortion:
thanks void, one more question, then i think i should be set...is there just a divx audio codec out there? i can get video to work, just not audio...

voidmain:
Did you install those codecs in /usr/lib/win32? I don't have any problems with any DivX format (3/4/5) and even WMV Microsoft files. Hmmmm, I also have the "libquicktime-opendivx" and "divix4linux" RPMs installed but I don't believe MPlayer needs anything in those. At least not according to the man page.

distortion:
yeah, i extracted the win32 codec to that directory and recomiled the source...

i have the latest divx4linux (which i believe is 5.1), but not libquicktime-open divx. so i guess i'll give that a shot.

voidmain:
Hmmm, one thing I don't see in this thread is which Linux distribution and version are you running?
