so i'm downloading Sun's Java Runtime Environment version 1.4 for Linux. It's 20 fucking megabytes! what's the deal? I did the same with Java runtime environment 1.4 for windows not long ago and it was about 7 Mb i reckon?!?!? what are they putting in there? this sort of thing really gets your goat if you're on dialup!

slave:
Due to my stupidity, they had to come round my house and give me the beating i so dearly deserve, but that still didn't stop me talking shit on these forums.

Don't listen to Windows XP loser here.

For some un-godly reason Sun decied to include useless crap with the Linux version.  All kinds of stuff that the average user will never need.  I think(think is the key word), that a smaller version is available without the useless crap.

hoojchoons:
There must be a smaller version for you to download. I am currently using SuSE Linux 8.0 which comes with the Java Development Kit Version 1.1.8. I found it under /opt/netscape/java and to my great surprise it takes up only 6.5 MB. Are you still using Mandrake 8.2?

Refalm:
JRE 1.4 for Windows XP also has some load off crap, like Draw 4.0, Sun Notepad, let's try out...

Opening...

WTF? This s**t overrules Paint and M$ Notepad easily!
